Samuel Luke "Sam" Johnstone (born 25 March 1993) is an English footballer who plays as goalkeeper for English club Manchester United. Prior to breaking into the Manchester United first team, he spent time on loan with Scunthorpe United, Walsall, Yeovil Town, Doncaster Rovers and Preston North End. He is also an England youth international, having won caps at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-20 level. He is the son of Glenn Johnstone, a former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Preston North End in the early 1990s.
